Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

The Scarecrow Festival is back for 2018 in September with nine days packed full of fun things to do and see all over Bothwell!

Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

About Bothwell Scarecrow Festival

It all begins with Sport Weekend, which includes the Scarecrow Champions League Football Tournament on Saturday 8th September, followed by a choice of the On Road Cycle Ride to Glasgow or Family Cycle Ride and the 5K & 10K Fun Run on Sunday 9th September. Click here to Enter the Fun Run.

Other highlights to look forward to this year include:

The Famous Comedy Night - Kids Party Night - Farmers’ Market - Family Outdoors Fun Day - Art Exhibition - Grand Scarecrow Parade

The events will once again be spread around various venues in the village with Bothwell Primary School being used as our main arena for the Saturday and Sunday activities. Don’t miss the ‘Indoor and Outdoor Fun activities’ on Saturday 15th September including the Free Games Zone – the fun fair, Petting Zoo, Face painting, Arts and Crafts, Balloon modeling and much more!

As with previous years we have activities for all ages.

On Sunday 16th September we have the Grand Scarecrow Parade followed by an afternoon of fun as the playground goes ‘down on the farm’ with music, dancers, races and much more.

The festive spirit provided by your Scarecrow creations is very important, so this year we are opening up the Super Scarecrow Street competition to A STREET, PART OF A STREET or any COMMUNITY GROUP that would like to enter. Find out what we are offering to encourage you to enter the Competition on our SUPER SCARECROW STREET page. For help on how to build your own very special scarecrow visit our Build a Scarecrow page.

We’re hoping for sunshine but if it’s wet, the fun will continue indoors so be sure to come along. There is loads to do for everyone regardless of the weather.

We are still in the final planning at this stage, to keep up to date with progress and see the latest info check out our BREAKING NEWS or go to our Facebook site.

Look forward to seeing you all at the festival.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Bothwell Scarecrow Festival are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
