Set to take place at The Westerwood Hotel & Resort on Saturday 3 February, the Burns Supper event will be delivered by local charity Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland (SBH Scotland). All proceeds raised from the evening will be spent locally to provide personalised support to children, young people and adults affected by the lifelong disabilities of spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.
Adding a modern twist to the traditional Burns Supper, the charity will be pairing a hearty three-course meal, with some special games and helping attendees to dance the night away (and burn off the neeps and tatties) with a ceilidh disco.
Tickets for the event cost £30 per person, or £250 for a table of 10 with all proceeds going to fund charitable activities which include support groups at the charity’s Cumbernauld headquarters, health and wellbeing clinics and support workers who are able to provide tailored advice from initial diagnosis through all stages of a person’s life.
Deborah Roe, fundraising director at SBH Scotland, said; “Now in its 7th year, our community Burns Supper event is always a fantastic night, full of fun, dancing and a traditional Burns feast.
“The money raised will be spent locally, to help those in the Lanarkshire area affected by the conditions. It also provides us with an opportunity to thank our local supporters who contribute to fundraising efforts all year round, and we look forward to welcoming guests to the event.”
