About Auld Hat, New Heids
Following the great success of last year, we are delighted to welcome back Auld Hats – New Heids to Rutherglen Town Hall.
Their success has been rewarded in the last year with a sell out concert at the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival in January. June 2017 saw the release of their first CD as a group; Auld Hat – New Heids Vol. One. Between them they have released more than 30 CDs and supported acts on many more.
This show will take you back to the early days of folk music in Scotland when folk clubs were packed with people having fun and singing along to the songs they knew so well.
With clever wit and banter Fraser Bruce , Ian Bruce , Pete Clark and Gregor Lowrey will have you 'singing your hearts out'
The success of this show is backed up by their Festival and Theatre appearances this year ranging from Orkney in the North to Stranraer in the South.
Fraser Bruce's first experience of folk songs was as a pupil at Rutherglen Academy where Norman Buchan MP was a teacher at the school and ran a 'ballads club', a club “dedicated to folk music."
