LEGO Robotics Workshops

About LEGO Robotics Workshops

New Lanark are hosting a series of LEGO Robotics Workshops within their programme of activities linked to Brick City, an exhibition of over 60 models made from an estimated half-a-million LEGO Bricks which will be on display at New Lanark from 28th June – 9th August 2017.

Using the latest LEGO robotics technology, participants will be able to build amazing creatures using gears, motors & wheels and will then use laptops to program the creatures to react to their surroundings. The Robotics Workshops will last 30 minutes and run 4 times daily on Tuesday 11th July, Tuesday 18th July, Tuesday 25th July and Tuesday 1st August. The cost of the workshop is £10 per laptop station which caters for a group up to 4 people (multiple stations can be booked for larger groups).

All children must be accompanied by an adult/carer at all times. The Robotics Workshops are typically age appropriate from 8 years + however with assistance from parents/carers this age restriction is flexible.

Tickets for the Robotics Workshops must be booked in advance via www.newlanark.org/brickcity where visitors can also purchase Brick City exhibition tickets.

Brick City is a celebration of some of the world's favourite buildings and urban icons, recreated solely using LEGO bricks. Brick City has previously been enjoyed by tens of thousands of visitors across the UK and now fans of LEGO young and old will have the chance to catch this must-see exhibition at New Lanark during the summer of 2017.

2017 marks the Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology, making it the perfect time for visitors to enjoy a trip to New Lanark to see Brick City which includes a variety of historical icons like the Mona Lisa and landmarks including the Colosseum in Rome, Arc De Triomphe in Paris and Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for LEGO Robotics Workshops are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
