About #ScotArt - free art workshop for children and young people

Free artist led workshop for ages 8-25! (Lanarkshire residents)

WHAT MAKES UP THE BEATING HEART OF SCOTLAND?
What do you love about your region of Scotland?
What makes your region of Scotland unique?
What symbol best represents your region of Scotland?

#ScotArt - A nationwide youth engagement project marking the end of Scotland’s Year of Young people 2018, culminating in the annual Torchlight Procession on 30th December.

Each region will choose a symbol which will be made into an incredible wicker sculpture by our Lead Artist. The sculpture will be presented at the Edinburgh Torchlight Procession on 30 December, as part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHERE / WHEN
The workshop for Lanarkshire will take place between 11-4 on Sunday 14 October at the Sumerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge.

WHAT
The workshop will consist of a discussion session and an artistic session.
• The discussion session is led by the Young Champion and involves activities designed to inspire and inform the choice of symbol for the region.
• The artistic session is led by the Lead Artist and Young Artist and will allow the young people to see the methods and materials involved in creating a wicker sculpture, and to create their own wicker artwork to take home.

Get involved and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, celebrating the creativity and voice of Scotland’s young people.
