One of the most important lessons that yoga has taught Jacqueline and Karen is the importance of balance in our lives. Yoga has taught us that to look after your own needs is not selfish and in fact you need to be in a good healthy place yourself in order to support others. This balance in life can be achieved by balancing the energy centres in the body, known as the chakras. Balancing the chakras can be a really useful tool to use in looking after yourself and your wellbeing.
Both Jacquelline and Karen have felt the benefits as students of yoga of the incorporation of energy work into classes. We would love to share our knowledge with you to help you achieve balance and contentment in your lives. Energy is everywhere and we can feel energy in our lives off the mat. Have you ever walked into a Doctor’s waiting room, for example, and just known that there is an anxious feeling in the air? – this is energy and we can pick up and bounce off both positive and negative energy generated by others.
Balancing the chakras can be an effective tool in protecting your energy, especially if you work in a stressful job or care for others.
In this workshop we will be exploring the chakras and how we can incorporate energy work into our yoga practice. You will learn yoga postures that may help to release the energy that may be blocking your chakras. Blocked chakras can manifest in the body in a number of ways and can contribute to your physical and mental wellbeing.
Tapping into and balancing the chakras can shift energy in the body to help you feel balanced and aligned with your desires in life.
On this workshop we will intro incorporating the 7 main chakras into your yoga practice.
Yoga is so much more than physical asanas and can be used to help balance the mind to heal areas of your life that need attention. A good way of doing this is to balance the chakras and our aim in this workshop is to teach you to incorporate energy work into your yoga practice.
14:00 – 14:20 – Settle in and chakra colour meditation (this will help reveal what chakra you need to focus on in your life at the present time)
14:20 – 15:20 – Chakra balancing flow (suitable for all levels with an existing yoga practice)
15:20 – 15:40 – Break, herbal teas and energy balls
15:40 – 16:00 – Talk on energy and the chakras (handouts to take home will be provided)
16:00 – 16:30 – Sharing circle (and you only have to speak if you would like to if you would rather just listen that is absolutely fine, there is no pressure at all). We will be relating this back to your chakra colour meditation for each of you and seeing how that relates to any issues that you have been having in your life.
16:30 – 17:00 – Restorative yoga and savasana with relaxing chakra meditation
