About Take Off Theatre Workshops - Serving The Fun Aspect Of Life

The arts have already proven to be integral to all subjects and has lead to improved standards including Maths and English, helping to create a life long passion for learning, and for children who can find academic learning challenging, the benefits of drama have resulted in assisting effective cognitive development, but It is all about freeing up and feeling ‘fun' with lots of energy in drama and improvisation, and for the younger groups of Primary 4-7, expanding confidence through the supportive nature of drama and the chance to perform on stage at the end of the year.

We offer an increased sense of motivation, engagement and participation in our classes, a social tool for confidence. The classes will take place at the Village Centre in East Kilbride run by professional actors, who will facilitate developing skills in drama and voice, the freedom which allows students to understand their own perspective through performance and expand their own personalities to unfold stories through action, serving the fun aspect of life and nurturing connections with other children, stimulating ideas and emotions which help blend and create characters within drama.

As children progress in drama, Senior Class S1-S4, we would like to introduce fun ways of 'life Mapping', as an exploratory tool, helping to support and facilitate vocational thoughts or otherwise, a small introduction to small pieces of literature, movements and dance through performance. The age bracket for students of 15 years and upwards, can show case their acting skills at the East Kilbride Arts Centre.

Take Off Theatre Group work alongside “Tranquil Entertainment” a drama group who currently perform three shows a year at the Art Centre.
