Five Weeks of Free Singing and Musical Games***
NYCOS Hamilton Wee Sing is a completely free project that introduces children, entering Primary 4 after the summer, to singing through fun musical games. Taking place on Tuesday evenings from 3 September at Hamilton Grammar School, children will learn about pitching, rhythm and beat through interactive games and activities.
A parent of a previous Wee Sing participant says: “This is an absolutely brilliant programme, I can't recommend it enough. My daughter did it last year, and had a wonderful time. She learned so much in just those few weeks, I was so impressed with what the children could do after such a short space of time.”
Karen Clark, one of the Wee Sing leaders, said: “NYCOS Wee Sing provides an invaluable opportunity for P4s to come together and experience high quality, enjoyable music making through singing. It is fun, free and allows children the opportunity to develop their love of singing in a very engaging and social setting.”
NYCOS is Scotland’s youth singing organisation and operates fourteen Regional Choirs across Scotland and four national choirs, including the critically acclaimed National Youth Choir of Scotland which recently performed at the Philharmonie de Paris. In October NYCOS will launch its newest regional choir in Hamilton. All children who take part in Wee Sing will have the opportunity to join.
Thanks to Youth Music Initiative funding, NYCOS Wee Sing is completely free.
However, spaces are limited so parents are advised to book in advance by visiting nycos.org.uk/weesing.
