Are you an older sports fan who loves to reminisce and share stories from your playing days? Do you still love to chat about your favourite football team or your endeavours on the golf course? Sport can be a great way of bringing people together and help isolated adults feel like they are part of something.

Our East Kilbride activity programme is a partnership between South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture and East Kilbride Sports Club (Calderglen Sports Hub). Our local weekly club members along with local residents come to the sports club for a monthly hub event to reminisce, link with sports clubs/activity providers in a themed activity and have lunch.

This is a Changing Lives through Sport and Physical Activity programme and aims to encourage older adults to become more socially and physically active. Everyone is welcome! At our most recent event we linked up with a summer football camp at East Kilbride Community Trust and the guys turned back the clock to show they haven't lost their football skills.

Hub events are free and lunch provided with the opportunity to join weekly sporting memories groups in the community.

Running on the first Tuesday of every month our Hub events are taking place on the following dates:

Tuesday 6th August (10.30am-1pm)
Tuesday 3rd September (10.30am-1pm)
Tuesday 1st October (10.30am-1pm)
Tuesday 5th November (10.30am-1pm)
Tuesday 2nd December (10.30am-1pm)

Please do share with friends / family members who you think might enjoy sharing their sporting memories!

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Sporting Memories are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
