Biggar Youth Project Website

We are a small voluntary group started by parents in September 1995 and still going strong! The Youth Project provides services and activities for young people aged 11 to 18 years in Biggar and the surrounding area. Our catchment area is that of Biggar High School, a vast rural area in excess of 300 square miles in southern Scotland.

In 2003 we converted the Old Cattle Auction Ring in Biggar into a drop in facility for young people. Using local tradesmen and volunteers this work took twelve months and in December 2003 we opened our doors in our permanent home - The Old Auction Ring. We haven't looked back and our current programme now includes:-

Study Area/Social Base for S6 pupils
Cafe offering healthy snacks/drinks
Young Carers Group
Creative Writers Group
Study Leave Provision
P7 to S1 Transition activities
Summer Holiday programme
Football Coaching - 16 to 18 year olds
Netball Coaching - S3 and above

We are currently open 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Thursday during term time. Our Project Co-ordinator is usually in on a Friday as well.
