Watch out for our social media posts featuring top wellbeing tips for families with links to downloadable worksheets.

Twitter Health Test
Monday 8 February, 8pm
Join us on Twitter and challenge yourself to discover if your health knowledge is up to scratch. Throughout the hour, we’ll be testing your health knowledge and helping to raise awareness of various health stats and information by asking you about them before revealing the answer.

Bookbug Online
Tuesday 9 February, 11am
Bookbug is loved by parent and children nationwide, and the health and wellbeing benefits of interacting with your child while singing songs, rhymes and listening to stories are always clear to see. Join us for another great online session which you can enjoy. This will mark the return of our weekly Bookbug Online sessions.

New Tricks Quiz
Tuesday 9 February, 2.30pm
Join the team behind our hugely successful New Tricks events for their brilliant general knowledge quiz. Get your mind active and join in on the quiz fun.

Chatty Café
Wednesday 10 February, 2pm
We’ve all lived in very challenging circumstances in recent times and feelings of isolation have been easy to encounter. You can join us on Webex to simply have a chat with a friendly face for a short while. Kicking off the chat with some interest in family history and travel, we’ll see where the chat takes us.

Shared Reading
Thursday 11 February, 11am
Sign up to come along to our Shared Reading session where you can listen to a staff member read a short story or poem and discuss it afterwards. Reap the benefits of reading aloud and have a chat with fellow story lovers. You can enjoy the session by listening only or get involved with the reading too. It’s up to you.

Six Legal Must Dos
Thursday 11 February, 11am
In partnership with Solicitors for Older People Scotland, we will be hosting a Six Legal Must Dos session on Webex where one of their experts will be on hand to provide a presentation on some important legal matters that they can assist with.

For the Love of Books Podcast
Thursday 11 February, 6pm
Listen to our health and wellbeing-focussed episode of the library podcast, For the Love of Books which is available on all major podcast platforms. In this episode, we will highlight some of the health benefits of reading and why some of our staff feels reading helps with their own escapism.

Read Well NL
Friday 12 February, launch day
Reading has some very well documented health benefits and regular reading can help improve those benefits faster. We will be relaunching our Read Well NL reading challenge. A challenge to read for 6 minutes each day. Get access to our downloadable recording sheet to keep track of how you’re doing on our Read Well NL webpage.

Webex Bookbug Group for 0 – 12-month-olds
Friday 12 February, 10am
Join the launch session of a new weekly Bookbug group for parents who have had children during lockdown and so far have been unable to participate in Bookbug sessions. This initial meeting will have a short Science of Bookbug presentation, Q&A and introductory session. This will become a weekly event for attendees, with a 30 minutes standard session and chance to chat with other parents afterwards.

Colouring-in for Adults
Saturday 13 February, 4pm
Catch our video on colouring-in for adults and watch a relaxing video all wrapped up in one. Being creative is a great way to relax and improve your mental health and there are some fantastic videos out there can help you relax on this topic too.

Make Your Date a Book
Sunday 14 February, all day – videos daily in the lead-up
We think your perfect date for Valentine’s would be a book. So throughout Love Life Love Libraries our staff will be posting videos of what their favourite romantic reads are.

On Valentine’s Day itself, we’ll be holding a vote right here on the website on which one you fancy the most as your perfect date. Watch out for the voting link coming to this page late in the week.
