About Beat The Street East Kilbride - Fun FREE Event For Everyone

The UK Government announced further restrictions in order to control the spread of COVID 19. Because of this, we are now closing Beat the Street at 10pm Monday 23 March 2020. Points are being counted and the winners of the game will be announced soon.

Beat the Street is a fun, free game that will see East Kilbride transformed into a giant game! Thousands of people will play. See how far you can walk, cycle, roll and run in just 6 weeks!

Check out the last South Lanarkshire game: www.youtube.com

There are over 70 Beat Box sensors around the town. Tap a few or tap them all for points.

Play the game anytime from 19th February to 1st April and register to win exciting prizes for yourself or join a team to win £££'s vouchers on the teams leaderboard.

Every journey you make adds to your points total as well as your team. It's a fun competition for everyone young and old.

Information regarding coronavirus / COVID -19
Dr William Bird, founder of the Beat the Street game, said:
“Beat the Street is continuing to follow government advice regarding coronavirus / COVID -19. In light of recent announcements, the Beat the Street game will continue to operate as it takes place in open spaces and does not involve mass events.

If you have not been asked to self-isolate then you are welcome to continue to play individually along with members of your household and get some fresh air. Beat the Street is a physical activity programme that encourages people to get outside and walk or cycle more.

The aim of Beat the Street is to increase physical activity and reduce stress. Both these factors have a significant effect on boosting the immune system. While playing the game we ask you to only touch the Beat Box with your card or fob and not your hands.”

Please don’t let anyone else use your card or fob and follow government advice at www.hps.scot.nhs.uk
