Viewers of the Facebook series will be able to enjoy an exclusive behind the scenes look at Amazonia who will shine a spotlight on some of its most curious residents.
The series of eight videos hosted by the expert team at Amazonia will feature interactive tasks for children to complete and will highlight some of the animals which live in the exotic rainforests of South America, as well as sharing some fun facts about their lives and habitats.
The first lesson, which will be aired on Tuesday 26 January, will introduce children to the rainforest as well as some of the monkeys, birds, amphibians and insects that call it home. Each lesson will focus on a specific part of the rainforest, such as the forest floor, the canopy layer and even which creatures can be found at night.
There will also be a special interactive lessons where, Amazonia Manager and zoologist, Amanda Gott, will personally introduce children to some of the animals that live in Amazonia via sessions hosted in the indoor rainforest’s handling room.
Downloadable worksheets will also be available to download, so children and parents watching the video series can complete tasks associated with each lesson.
These weekly lessons will be uploaded to both the Amazonia website and Facebook page, as well as the M&D’s Facebook page, starting from Tuesday 26th January.
The tropical house, located at Scotland’s theme park, is home to more than 50 species of animals, including marmosets, tamarins, fruit bats, kinkajous, snakes, frogs, fish and many invertebrates.
These lessons are completely FREE and you do not need to book, and the new lessons can be viewed any time after they have been uploaded!
