Award-winning singer-songwriter, educator & TEDx speaker Elaine Lennon originally created the online version of The Homebird Sessions at the start of the lockdown in 2020 with the aim to connect with and talk to people who can open both hearts and minds through music.
We are delighted to be hosting The Homebird Sessions with Elaine Lennon and guests at Lanternhouse - a must for music fans and writers everywhere. In October and November, Elaine will be in conversation and concert with Yvonne Lyon and Boo Hewerdine in our Studio Theatre, as they take turns to share their songs from their latest albums and personal stories from their journeys into music.
The second of our Homebird Sessions will welcome Boo Hewerdine, one of the UK's finest singer-songwriters. As lead singer of seminal band, The Bible through to his subsequent solo work and long-time collaboration with Eddi Reader he has become something of a national treasure.
His latest album ‘Before’ was recorded with supreme Danish multiinstrumentalist Gustaf Ljungren Boo’s only collaborator on the set. ‘Before’ is also a timely reminder of the power of simplicity, Hewerdine’s lyricism set to a subtle backdrop of vintage instrumentation.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
