Broken Chanter

Brocken Chanter comes to Lanternhouse, Cumbernauld for a special night of music with support from Man of the Minch!

Broken Chanter

About Broken Chanter

Broken Chanter is David MacGregor, on his lonesome, or accompanied by an array of very talented musicians.

MacGregor spent 2007- 2017 as the principal songwriter of Scottish Alt-Pop darlings Kid Canaveral – a band that could get you to dance, laugh, and weep all in the space of a set. Their Debut LP Shouting at Wildlife was described by The Herald as “a Scottish pop classic that should be mandatory in every record collection in the country”, with follow-up Now That You Are a Dancer being nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year Award in 2014.

SUPPORT
Support comes from Man of the Minch (pictured below), a queer artist who blends traditional Celtic sounds with modern pop, having gained critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone magazine, The Guardian and Cerys Matthews (BBC 6Music), he has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting names at the forefront of Scottish folk music. Hear more from Man of the Minch here

Broken Chanter and Man of the Minch are part of our Olive Grove presents series of music events in the Lanternhouse Studio Theatre.
