We are delighted to be welcoming ‘The Other Brothers’, to the Granary, an exciting and vibrant duo.
Made up of Darren Young and David Mairs, the pair have developed a fresh approach to contemporary acoustic music.
David Mairs is a gifted musician and vocalist . Whether delivering melodies or intimate ballads, his voice captivates with both power and control. David’s polished guitar and piano accompaniment brings depth and texture to the sound. A qualified music teacher with a background in musical theatre, he has spent over a decade performing across Scotland’s Central Belt, earning a reputation for professionalism and musical versatility.
Darren Young brings over twelve years of gigging experience and a deep-rooted passion for bluegrass and acoustic music. A dynamic guitarist and expressive vocalist, Darren is also a talented songwriter, contributing original material that showcases the duo’s heartfelt storytelling. He was a founding member of the popular Glasgow bluegrass outfit The Daddy Naggins and continues to perform with The Mairs Family Band.
Together, ‘The Other Brothers’ are a blend of rich harmony singing, superb guitar work, and an infectious stage presence. Their performances move seamlessly between foot-stomping bluegrass, country classics, folk favourites, and compelling original songs — all delivered with warmth, humour, and a natural rapport that audiences instantly connect with.
For this special performance, the duo will be joined by percussionist Stefan Celosia, adding rhythmic drive and dynamic colour to the band’s engaging sound.
Door entry of £10 includes filter coffee, tea and delicious home baking.
