This summer, a new day-time community parade will be devised as part of this years Landemer Festival to celebrate 900 years of Rutherglen.
The parade will collaborate with the existing popular historic ceremony of Landemer Day; an annual community celebration with a history spanning over 300 years.
‘Rutherglen 900: Striding the Streets’ will be a procession of outdoor large, medium and small artworks and performances for audiences to encounter on the pavements, from their windows and doorsteps, or follow as part of the procession.
Freelance artists will work with the thirteen local communities to bring high quality arts experiences to Rutherglen, with a focus on celebrating people and place.
