We are a group of people who run and manage Carluke & District Gala Day that covers the areas of Carluke, Braidwood and Law within South Lanarkshire. There are many organisation, schools and groups that take part in this annual tradition by parading through the town, ending at the Market Square where the crowning ceremony will take place.
Members of the Court are picked from the 7 primary schools within these areas and each year a a Gala Queen is chosen to represent her school and is Crowned by a chosen Crowning Lady.
We fundraise to stage this and many other such events throughout the year for the benefits of the communities involved.
This event was first brought back to life in 1978 by Carluke Community Council and has been staged each year their after (with the exception of 2004 where there were no Committee in place)
