Main entrance to park set to reopen
The main entrance to Calderglen Park in East Kilbride has now reopened to vehicles.

Earlier this month access to the park was restricted after a visit by council officers found areas of wear and tear on the bridge, which provides the sole vehicle access to the park and zoo, as well as to residential properties and sports facilities.
General Manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, David Booth, said: “Hopefully the entrance road opening back up should coincide with some better weather to allow park users to enjoy the outdoors in a physically-distanced way during lockdown.”
Calderglen Country Park is a four-star tourist attraction which has a Zoo and Tropical Conservatory, Ornamental Gardens, Nature Trails and Walks, Courtyard Cafe, Toddlers' Play Area, Adventure Play Area and an 18 hole golf course.
Some of the features listed above are currently not available given the current Scottish Government restrictions because of the global pandemic.
The park extends along a scenic wooded glen forged out by the Rotten Calder River, a tributary of the River Clyde. The Glen extends over 5km and has many attractive waterfalls and important geological features.
