Exciting season ahead as venues reopen their doors

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture has an exciting programme planned to welcome back audiences to its entertainment venues.

With the further easing of restrictions as of today, August 9, SLLC can return to full capacity for the first time in 18 months, while continuing to follow current government advice.

And their new season is packed with shows and features for all ages and interests from much-loved music and tribute acts and film presentations, to live comedy, and the return of the Christmas panto.

David Booth, General Manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, said: “Following the success of our socially-distanced summer panto, ‘The Pure Amazing Wiz of Oz’ which performed to significantly reduced capacities, we are delighted to welcome this step which allows us to open our doors to full houses once again.

“Nonetheless, the safety of our staff and customers remains paramount, and we will continue to adhere to current government guidance and safety measures, including the continued wearing of face coverings whilst attending our venues.

“We can only welcome back audiences successfully with the continued support of our loyal customers, and the teams across our venues have put in place a varied and exciting package of shows for the forthcoming season.

“We can’t wait to be a part of opening up the much-missed world of live theatre and performances to audiences across South Lanarkshire once again.”

Full information, and tickets for the new season of events are available from the online box office. Tickets can also be bought in person at Rutherglen Town Hall, The Town House Hamilton, Lanark Memorial Hall, East Kilbride Village Theatre and East Kilbride Arts Centre.
