Amazonia appoints new education officer
Amazonia, a temperature controlled tropical indoor attraction within M&D's Scotland's Theme Park, has appointed Courtney Whiteman as an Education Officer.

Themed on South America’s Amazon rainforest, Amazonia is a unique place for fun and learning and home to over 60 different species and exotic plants.
With a first-class honours degree in Applied Bioscience and Zoology, Courtney is passionate about wildlife conservation and promoting the critical importance and impact of wildlife in our environment.
In her new role Courtney will be leading handling sessions and educational presentations for schools, as well as visiting interested groups in the community.
Amanda Gott, Amazonia’s Zoologist and Manager said: “We look after many endangered species and there’s so much to see and learn about all our different species from our Goeldi’s monkeys to our bumblebee dart frogs.
“Courtney will be a great addition to the team supporting all our learning by developing Amazonia’s educational commitment with schools, universities and groups, as well as our sustainability work.”
Located within M&D’s Theme Park by Strathclyde Country Park, Amazonia features a variety of different experiences including daily animal handling sessions and snake feeding tours. Young people can experience being a keeper for the day and host birthday parties at the venue.
Amazonia is open daily from 10am until 5pm, with dedicated ASN sessions every Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 11am.
