Online applications are now being accepted for many of Scottish Golf’s most popular tournaments starting with two open events staged on the same week in April - the Scottish Boys’ Open at Cruden Bay and, at Luffness New, the Scottish Girls’ Open sponsored by Loretto School.
The full schedule of 33 events, catering for players of all abilities, runs from April until September with team events for men, women and boys providing a dramatic climax to the year.
Highlights of the forthcoming 2026 season include:
• Royal Aberdeen acting as principal venue (alongside Murcar Links) for the Scottish Men’s Amateur Championship for the ninth time in the event’s 104-year history
• The Scottish Women’s Amateur returning to Southerness for a third time and the first since 2009
• St Andrews Links (Eden Course) staging the third PING Scottish Open for Golfers with a Disability
• Insured Health coming on board as title sponsors of the Medal Finals series for club/handicap golfers
• Loretto School sponsoring the Scottish Girls’ Open at Luffness New
• The ever-popular Open Series returning for another year with six qualifiers on the ‘Road to Dumbarnie’
• The Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open at Royal Troon and the Scottish Men’s Open at Glasgow Gailes Links counting as ranking events for the new European Amateur Order of Merit
Team events joining the schedule include the Men’s Area Team Championships at Largs, the boys’ equivalent at Lochmaben, and the Women’s County Finals at Dunfermline.
In addition to regular Scottish Golf events, the Boys’ and Girls’ Home Internationals take place at Monifieth in August with Scotland’s boys defending the title they won last year in Ireland.
The 2026 season follows on from a dramatic 2025 where records tumbled and fresh storylines were created.
Players from 39 nations competed in events with winners coming not only from Scotland but also Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, France, England and Australia.
Record numbers of entries were received for the Scottish Boys’ Open at West Kilbride, the PING Scottish Open for Golfers with a Disability at Rowallan Castle, the Scottish Boys’ Under 16 Open at Peebles and the Scottish Senior Men’s Open at Montrose.
Toni Ffinch, senior events manager at Scottish Golf, said: “We’re excited to open online entries and very much looking forward to another brilliant year of events.
“The 2026 season promises to create new records and headlines, and we can’t wait to welcome golfers new and old to one or more of our events.”
Insured Health’s support as a new sponsor of the Medal Finals is a boost for the series that brings together male and female golfers via qualifying events at their home clubs.
Insured Health is a specialist health insurance broker, supporting individuals, families, and businesses with tailored private medical insurance solutions.
Oliver O’Hara, director at Insured Health, said: “We are delighted to be working with Scottish Golf and supporting the Medal Finals series.
“Partnerships like this allow us to engage directly with the golfing community and help members better understand their private medical insurance options.”
Dean Halford, director of golf at Loretto, is thrilled the school has tied up with Scottish Golf to become the new sponsor for the Scottish Girls’ Open.
He said: “It’s a privilege to be involved in an international golf event of this calibre.
“Scottish Golf’s commitment to growing the game and supporting young golfers to achieve their very best, whether at grassroots or top level, aligns closely with our values.”
