From a fun, hands-on wreath workshop to a delicious afternoon tea, Dobbies is offering thoughtful events for every kind of mother figure to enjoy.
Designed to allow quality time together, these memorable moments are the perfect way to spend Mother’s Day itself, or the days leading up to the celebration, with experiences bookable from Friday 13 March to Sunday 15 March. Whether that’s treating mum, gran, a sister, or any special lady who’s played a meaningful role in your life to an afternoon of fun.
The brand-new Mother’s Day Planted Wreath Workshop gives customers the perfect opportunity to spend all afternoon together, with the option to add on a special afternoon tea. This creative hands-on planting experience gives each customer a chance to create their very own living wreath.
Dobbies’ Green Team will host a demonstration on how to create a planted hanging wreath, which has a stylish and sturdy metal structure, and can be filled with a selection of seasonal plants and greenery. Attendees will then have the chance to create their own arrangement, which can be taken home and hung on the front door or a garden wall to bring colour and texture to the space. The wreath can be updated throughout the year with seasonal plants.
Customers can choose to add on Dobbies’ Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea to the planting experience, or book this on its own. It’s a delightful treat for mum, featuring three tiers of sweet and savoury delights, plus unlimited tea and coffee refills.
The Afternoon Tea is an assortment of freshly made finger sandwiches with classic fillings, including free-range egg and cress, smoked Scottish salmon with cream cheese, chicken and bacon, and honey-glazed ham and tomato. The second tier includes a duo of Dobbies’ famous fruit and plain scones, served with Cornish clotted cream and a pot of jam, alongside a top tier of a delicious patisserie selection that includes raspberry cheesecake chocolate ganache slice, rosewater layer cake and raspberry profiterole. The savoury plate includes a flaky tart of sun-ripened tomato and fragrant pesto. Guests can upgrade the hot drink to speciality tea, coffee, or hot chocolate for 50p, or make the occasion extra special by adding a 200ml bottle of Prosecco for only £6.50 per adult (aged 18 and over).
There is an option to add on a children’s afternoon tea so the whole family can enjoy time together, priced at £10.50 per child.
With each Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea booking there will be a free gift for mum to really show you care, where she’ll receive a limited-edition rose plant to take home.
Dobbies’ Events Programme Manager, Ayesha Nickson, said: “Mother’s Day is a special day for many of our customers, and we love being part of the celebration. Our two Mother’s Day experiences are the perfect way to spend quality time together. The Mother’s Day Planted Wreath Workshop is a brand-new event for this year and, with the option to add on an afternoon tea, this is a great way to show the mother figure in your life just how much you care.”
Dobbies’ Mother’s Day Planted Wreath Workshop is available at 52 stores between Friday 13 and Sunday 15 March, priced at £37.50 per person, with the option to add on the Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea for £22.50 per person. The Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea is taking place across 50 stores from Friday 13 to Monday 16 March, with tickets from £25.
