From 4.30pm to 8.00pm The Big Feed will run food outlets at the Watersports Centre concourse and the foreshore car park, and music will be playing around the centre. A bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm.
The firework display can be seen from locations around the park. Solar lights line the edges of some of paths around the park to guide visitors.
There will be no funfair at the Watersports Centre.
M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park, which includes Cosmic Bowl 10-Pin Bowling, Amazonia, a temperature controlled tropical house, Devil’s Island Adventure Golf and Game Zone, will be open from 10am until 10pm, alongside Monterey Jack’s American-themed diner and the Alona Hotel. Visitors to the fireworks display can also take advantage of a discounted wristband for £12.95 between 2pm and 9pm, which can be booked online at www.scotlandsthemepark.co.uk
Parking
The event is expected to be very busy and there is limited parking within the park, so the advice is:
> arrive early and enjoy the food and music
> travel to the park by public transport, or
> park further from the park and walk.
Parking is available in Hamilton at Hamilton Palace Sports Grounds and Low Parks Museum, South Lanarkshire Council's overflow car park at the rear of Aldi, Keith Street and High Patrick Street. The usual restrictions and fees will be lifted in these car parks for the evening.
The tunnel from Hamilton into the park will be open until 6.30pm. From then, it will only be open for people exiting the park.
Please note: The beach car park will be closed.
Public toilets
Public toilets are available at the Watersports Centre concourse, the footbridge car park and M&D’s.
