About The Hopetoun Arms Hotel
A perfect stop off point if traveling north or south, and a perfect place for a nice relaxing break. The Hopetoun itself is steeped in history with mentions from Dorothy Wordsworth in her book "The grand tour of Scotland" Published in 1804.
The village itself has a heritage trail which will have you visit such delights as, John Taylors Grave, who died in 1770 at the remarkable age of 137 and The curfew Bell which was rung to inform the miners of their shift changes.
Although we are in a rural setting we are only forty five minutes from Glasgow and just over one hour to Edinburgh and Carlisle.
