Do you enjoy getting creative and learning about the past? If so then the Abbey Strand art club is just for you. Each session, explore special objects or spaces with a member of the Learning Team before using the Abbey Strand Centre as an artist studio to get creative and make masterpieces to take home.
May - Make your own seed box - Explore the Physic Garden with your sketch-pad and unearth some surprising tales. Use your findings as inspiration to decorate your own seed box to take home.
June - Silhouette making - Explore Georgian life and fashion with a visit to the Style & Society: Dressing the Georgians exhibition in The King’s Gallery. Then try your hand at making your own silhouette picture.
September - Flower pressing - Make your own paper basket before visiting the Physic Garden to collect flowers to press. Put your flowers in your own mini flower press and decorate it to take home.
November - Collage Calendar - Take inspiration from Queen Alexandra’s collages and make your own collage picture to take home. Get ready for 2025 by making your collage into a calendar and you will be able to enjoy looking at your creation all next year.
