27 acres of natural woodland in a former quarry. There is now a large pond suitable for canoeing and providing a home to amphibians and insects. Hosted war time anti-aircraft guns and their operators. Partly being restored to turn the gun emplacements into a living museum promoting local heritage. Pathways link the pond and the gun site, winding through the woodland and around the water. An ideal spot for jogging or walking the dog. For history buffs or walkers, Redlees is well worth a visit.
Cumbernauld Glen's ancient woodland is a haven for wildlife and the varied ground vegetation reflects the age of the site. Vast carpets of bluebells flower from May to June.
