They went stateside in 2017 as USA Today and many more global publications highlighted how this young Glasgow couple blew their life savings on 20,000 balloons to create the first of its kind events in Glasgow at The Quay with their Easter Wonderland. Fast forward five years with all the trials and tribulations of building a business through the pandemic and Sammy Sankey and Donnie MacNeil from Rainbow Twisters are even more enterprising and creative as they get set to open their doors this weekend for their spooktacular Halloween Wonderland in their studio space in Glasgow.
A select few have had a sneak peek behind the scenes and this is set to be the most Instagrammable place in the city this Halloween. The amazing balloon artistry installations will include giant pumpkins, Frankenstein, cauldron, flying bats, spiders as well as much loved characters Beetlejuice, Slimer and Jack Skellington. Plus that’s not all, visitors to the event space will also be treated to a totally interactive experience with slime making and balloon workshops, airbrush tattoos, light up bubble show and more.
The event is ticketed and has so far been selling quickly. More information on the event and purchasing tickets can be found at www.rainbowtwisters.com
Visitors to the unique event can expect small group sizes for a totally safe and personalised experience and fancy dress is most definitely encouraged.
The talented creators of the event from Rainbow Twisters, Sammy Sankey and Donnie MacNeil have been working tirelessly creating this experiential activity and ensuring everything is just perfect on opening day Saturday 15 October.
Sammy Sankey said: “We are passionate about creating a totally unique and memorable experience for families, something they’ll remember for years to come. We appreciate that the cost of living is a real issue this winter and we have designed this event with as much added value as we can possibly squeeze in to give kids and parents something to smile about this Halloween.”
Halloween Wonderland takes place from Saturday 15 October – Monday 31 October at Rainbow Twister’s studio space, 60 Brook Street Studios, Glasgow, G40 2AB
Participant tickets are £12.99 and spectator tickets are £3.99. Adults are more than welcome to purchase participant tickets too. The event is suitable for ages 3 - 70yrs (not recommended for babies and toddlers).
Tickets can be booked via www.rainbowtwisters.com
