Equi’s Ice Cream is marking its biggest Great Taste Awards success since 2019 with a limited-offer of free ice cream, with a choice of selected winning flavours, including the coveted 3-star Hazelnut Brittle, exclusively at Equi’s Hamilton, this Friday, 1st August.
The award-winning flavours include:
• Hazelnut Brittle – 3 stars
• Pistachio & Sicilian Orange – 2 stars
• Parma Custard & Vanilla Croquant – 1 star
The public can snap up a free scoop of a flavour of their choice from the three, including the Hazelnut Brittle, which was hailed by judges “A really special gelato that is skilfully made. The only thing we'd change is that we wanted more!”
The giveaway celebrates a landmark year for the Rutherglen-based producer, which has just scooped 11 Great Taste stars, its best result since 2019, including its first 3-star award since 2017.
Widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world, the Great Taste Awards are judged by over 500 food and drink experts and organised by the Guild of Fine Food. The 3-star accolade for Hazelnut Brittle places it in the top 1.5% of more than 14,000 entries and now qualifies it for the prestigious Golden Fork Awards.
This year’s full list of Equi’s winners includes:
• Hazelnut Brittle – 3 stars
• Pistachio Swirl – 2 stars
• Pistachio & Sicilian Orange – 2 stars
• Double Cream – 1 star
• Strawberry Cheesecake – 1 star
• Pistachio & Balsamic Fig – 1 star
• Parma Custard & Vanilla Croquant – 1 star
David Equi, CEO of Equi’s Ice Cream, said: “To receive 11 stars this year, our best result since 2019, is a proud moment for the whole team, but the 3-star award for our Hazelnut Brittle is the real cherry on top. It’s the kind of recognition that reflects our relentless pursuit of flavour and craftsmanship. We’re thrilled to see it going forward to the Golden Forks.”
This marks the tenth consecutive year Equi’s has been honoured at the Great Taste Awards, cementing its reputation as one of the UK’s most consistently decorated ice cream makers. The company has now earned a total of 80 stars since first entering the competition.
