Science Cafés (8th – 12th September)
Throughout the week, join our evening Science Cafés designed for adults, featuring incredible speakers on topics such as electric machines, climate change, and artificial intelligence. Don’t miss Wednesday evening’s session with the Edinburgh Climate Institute, where we’ll discuss local efforts to tackle climate change and reduce risk.
STEMtastic Saturday – Saturday 13th September
Our grand finale is a full day of science fun for enthusiasts of all ages! Expect talks, shows, and an amazing variety of drop-in activities. Highlights include:
Tayside Planetarium – Journey into the night sky, explore distant galaxies, and ponder the wonders of the Universe.
Magichem: The Science Magic Show – Be dazzled by a spectacular mix of science and illusion, perfect for curious minds young and old.
Drop-in science zones with Glasgow Science Centre Bodyworks, Edinburgh Dementia Research Institute, Tweed Foundation, Computer Xplorers lego robotics, Stemovators and many more!
Biggar Gasworks Tours – Step inside Scotland’s only preserved gasworks to discover how breakthroughs in science powered homes and industry.
Biggar Library – Special book displays and a science-themed Book Bug session for our youngest festival-goers.
A Science Trail to follow around Biggar with some exciting prizes to be won
