North Lanarkshire Arts is delighted to present an exhibition showcasing some of the fantastic work produced as part of the Postal Art Project.
About Whoa… yeah, wait a minute Mr Postman
This innovative and creative project took place in the Autumn/Winter of 2021 as a direct response to Covid-19 and the effect of the ongoing pandemic within North Lanarkshire.
The aim of the project was to bring creative activity to the community, which was interesting, thoughtful, inspiring, and accessible, especially to those who were more vulnerable and who may not have been able to easily participate in local arts activity.
Several themes surfaced because of the artist/participant interaction, care in the community, the NHS, ageing, isolation and loneliness, empathy and generosity, family, and friends. We hope that this exhibition is as thought provoking and engaging for viewers as the project was for all of those directly involved. We think the resulting work speaks volumes on a time in history no-one is likely to forget.
