Clutha Actor’s Studio Trust presents The Big Bill by John McGlade. A new comedy play about the energy price rip-off.
The Big Bill is directed by Lauren Mitchell and performed by David McKnight, Georgia Blue Ireland, Rebecca Wilkie & Belle Jones.
Flatmates Danny and Greta are steadily sinking into the mire known as ‘the cost of living crisis’.
The pair come up with inventive ways to tighten their financial belt while keeping warm through the winter, but when a monstrous energy bill hits their doormat, they find they’re in way over their heads.
Can the flatmates find a way out that will allow them to retain their friendship and dignity?
The Big Bill is a fast-moving, sharply observed satire on the absurdities of late capitalism, and the impossible day-to-day demands it makes of us. The play carries a message of hope for besieged individuals and communities.
