Strathaven Town Mill @ the Granary is delighted to be hosting Gill Halliday, singer-songwriter from the North of Scotland, who crafts her songs with disarming honesty, like secret pages from a diary. She tells stories of life on the road from Scotland to New Zealand, stories of love, friendship and chance encounters. Gill is a gifted vocalist with a powerful voice that will leave audiences breathless. Her spirited flute playing lifts the performance to new heights, displaying influences from her experience in Scottish traditional music as well as her ability to improvise, drawing inspiration from Jazz, Blues and Classical technique.
Currently, collaborating with Harley Gillan, a seasoned professional guitar player and vocalist with decades of experience of performing in the UK & Europe (predominently France, where he lived for 8 years) His guitar playing is filled with Jazz tinged surprises.
Together, they create a unique sound which will hold you captive for the evening.
