Ian Bruce, singer songwriter and stalwart of the Scottish folk scene first dedicated his life to making music professionally back in 1977, and has been part of numerous duos and groups as well as releasing several albums, including one interpreting Robert Burns songs. His crowd-funded latest, Together Forever, is a sort of culmination of his musical journey to date, a collection of 33 songs, all bar one covers, that have meant something to him over the years, and on which he’s joined by a glittering array of fellow folk musicians who have come up with him on the folk scene.
This 33-song, double album release of duets has been rightly described as a ‘powerhouse of a collection.’
The 32 cover songs embrace some old favourites and less well known ones and Ian rounds things off with one of his own, the aptly titled, “And We Sing.”
Over the years Ian worked with so many and this album is a fabulous collection for all folk music fans to enjoy including, The Sangsters, Jez Lowe, Allan Taylor, Barbara Dickson, Jim Malcolm, Bob Fox, Alastair Macdonald, Sheena Wellington, Artie Trezise, and many others.
Ian will be joined on the 10th November by many of the musicians who played on the album.
ENTRY: £10.00 at the door. BYOB. Come early to avoid disappointment.
