The Noizy Indie Social Club return to Cumbernauld Theatre on Friday 7th March with a performance from Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Sonny Leto and his 9-piece band, The Funk Militia!
About The Noizy Indie Social Club Present Sonny Leto and The Funk Militia
Sonny Leto is a Glasgow-based singer-songwriter known for his vibrant blend of funk, soul and disco, drawing influences from timeless acts such as Nile Rodgers and Chic as well as contemporary artists such as Thundercat and Kevin Parker.
Sonny performs with his 9-piece ‘Funk Militia’ who have made a strong impression with their energetic performances and intricate musical arrangements, often featuring powerful vocals, grooving basslines, punchy horns riffs and syncopated drum beats. After performing his first three shows, Sonny got signed to the Glasgow-based record label ‘Electric Honey’ and released his latest single ‘Love That Set Me Free’, which has been praised for its infectious energy and smooth execution. Sonny is now a key rising player in the Scottish music scene after taking his 9-piece funk powerhouse to perform sell-out shows and packed festivals across the country for the last year and a half, most recently featuring as the main support for ‘The Allergies’ at Websters Theatre and receiving major radio play on BBC Radio 6.
