The Carlton band formed in 2016 with the meeting of Barney Taplin and Lesley O’Brien at Carlton Recording Studios, Glasgow.
The Carlton’s current lineup is Barny Taplin, Lesley O’Brien, Gavin Smith and Ian Latta, playing mouthie, guitar, snare drum and bass. Barny has played in bands since the 70’s including punk bands Sammy and The Badgers and Johnny Acid and the Trippers. Lesley is a professional Storyteller and sings in several folk bands including Kittlin and The Moonbathers.
All are members of The Carlton Jug band, a country-blues collective.
