Since opening in 1972 the John Wright Sports Centre has been an exceptionally popular venue, providing a range of services from casual sports bookings through to international events.

With over 7.5 million attendances the Centre has seen many changes to the range and quality of services it offers: these changes reflecting the evolution of customer demands and expectations.

Today the Centre's indoor facilities include three large Sports Halls, split level gym, spin studio and squash court. Outdoors it has an eight lane synthetic track, one grade A grass pitch and one 3G Synthetic Grass pitch.
