Highlight events of this year’s Winterfest include the popular Christmas Market & Light Switch-On on Saturday 16th November, the Illuminated Lanimer Parade & Late-Night Shopping on Friday 22nd November, and the Festive Taste of Lanark on Saturday 7th December.

Many community groups and local venues are participating in this year’s Winterfest, including: Lanark Panto Club; New Lanark World Heritage Site; The Tolbooth; Lanark Memorial Hall; Lanark Amateur Musical Society; The Clydesdale Inn, Greyfriars Church; St Nicholas Church; Christ Church and St Mary’s Church.

Copies of the calendar will be distributed to Lanark homes, in local venues and a full timetable of events and PDF download will also be available from www.lanarktrust.co.uk.

Throughout the whole of Winterfest, businesses in the High Street will be invited to participate in a festive window competition, and children will be able to take part in the Santa Trail, spotting penguin toys hiding in local shop windows.

Many of the popular Winterfest events will be filmed by Discover Lanark BID this year, with an aim of producing short films to promote Lanark events, dining & shopping over the festive period.

Lanark Winterfest is supported by Border Biscuits Community Support Fund. The Winterfest Programme has been produced by Lanark Community Development Trust since 2015, and it has grown in popularity ever since with more festive events being added every year for the community to enjoy.

Winterfest is part of the Development Trust’s ‘Lanark Festivals’ project, which also includes FlowerFest at Castlebank Park, next taking place from 8th – 10th May 2020 to coincide with the VE Day Anniversary national celebrations.

Further information about Lanark Community Development Trust’s projects is available at www.lanarktrust.co.uk.
