New fairy doors appear in Glen Esk Pocket Park
Local four year old twins, Orla and Aidan, have made it their mission to replace the fairy doors that were recently vandalised in East Kilbride's Glen Esk Pocket Park!

Glen Esk Pocket Park is a new public green space in East Kilbride created with the Scottish Government Vacant and Derelict Land Fund. The park opened in December 2019 and since then has become a favourite with locals who love the native planting, habitat creation and artwork. The area featured in Beat The Street East Kilbride events and videos, raising the profile of the park and attracting more visitors.
Fairy grottoes started to appear in the wooded areas which became magical spaces to explore. Recently residents were saddened to find that many of the fairy features had been broken. Not to be put off, 4 year old local twins Orla and Aidan set about building new fairy doors and furniture and placing them in the park.
Residents have been delighted with the thoughtful pair and Beat The Street organisers have sent them a Beattie The Hedgehog each as a thank you!
