Helping North Lanarkshire back to business
North Lanarkshire Council have launched a campaign to help local businesses reopen safely and support economic recovery.

Back in Business directs businesses to the information and guidance they need to reopen and comply with all the relevant government coronavirus guidance.
Information is available on our web site for businesses in different industry sectors, for people who are self-employed, and companies of all sizes. It also directs employers to advice and guidance from trade and professional organisations, the Scottish Government, a risk assessment toolkit from the Health and Safety Executive and other public agencies.
Videos have been produced to highlight some of the issues that businesses must address to open safely for customers and staff, including physical distancing, use of PPE, collecting customer contact details and cleaning and hygiene practices.
A dedicated email address - businesssupport@northlan.gov.uk - allows businesses to contact us with any questions about reopening, and staff will provide one-to-one advice. This includes how council services, such as Trading Standards and Environmental Health, can help as well as agencies such as Business Gateway Lanarkshire for support on issues including employment, marketing and sales, use of digital technology and financial advice.
Councillor Allan Graham, Convener of the Enterprise and Growth Committee said: “Our clear message to North Lanarkshire businesses is that we're here to help.
“We want to support businesses to reopen safely, and to be able to adapt to the changing environment we're facing as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
“Our business team can offer practical support on issues that businesses are facing as restrictions ease and more sectors reopen, and, in partnership with Business Gateway, strategic advice on sustaining and growing businesses for the future.”
