Following its re-opening last month, the four star venue had responded to significant pent-up demand, and has re-shaped its offering to accommodate a range of wedding requests, creating a magical experience in a romantic and safe environment.
In line with government guidelines, intimate ceremonies can now be held in front of a small group of family and friends, and the venue is offering the potential to hold this small ceremony now with a larger reception at a later date. These ‘Sequel weddings’ have been particularly popular with the venue, with wedding co-ordinators working closely with couples to plan not one, but two special days.
Demand is also growing for ‘shift weddings’ which mean couples do not have to compromise on guest numbers, hosting one group of family and friends for the ceremony and another for an extended wedding breakfast the following day.
Bookings for larger weddings in 2021/2022 are also on the rise, and the hotel is seeing increased bookings for up to 300 guests in its Crutherland Suite.
The impact of COVID-19 can also be seen with couples preferring to book a wedding with the safety and security of everything under one roof rather than having to liaise with multiple suppliers at this challenging time. The hotel can also easily and quickly adapt its offering in line with changing government guidelines.
Macdonald Crutherland House & Spa’s team of specialist wedding coordinators will take care of every part of the wedding journey, from venue hire, to catering and overnight accommodation for guests. At the onsite spa, couples will be able to pamper themselves before the big day, or relax and unwind in the knowledge that everything will be taken care of by the hotel’s team of wedding experts.
Danielle Fabian, wedding coordinator at Macdonald Crutherland House & Spa said: “The last few months have created a lot of uncertainty within the wedding market, but we are now seeing a marked rise in consumer confidence.
“This period of lockdown gave us all time to reflect on what is most important to us, and couples are still focused on showcasing their love and commitment to one in other in front of family and friends and are happy to adapt so their special day can still happen.
“Your wedding is one of the most special days of your life and we give a promise to each of our couples that we will do everything we can to create the day they have always dreamed of.
“As we navigate these unprecedented times, it is the ability to be flexible which will get us through. Macdonald Crutherland House & Spa is one of our most romantic wedding venues, with a range of function rooms available. Couples also have the option to tie the knot outside in our beautifully serene gardens.
“Located within a hotel setting, the venue also has everything needed under one roof, removing the hassle and uncertainty of dealing with multiple suppliers.”
Set in an 18th century manor house and surrounded by 37 acres of unspoiled countryside, Macdonald Crutherland House hotel is a unique and picturesque luxury four-star hotel. The secluded location feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Glasgow city centre and the manicured gardens provide an idyllic backdrop for photographs.
The hidden gem, which is part of the leading independent hotel group Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, features 75 luxurious bedrooms and is ideal for weddings of all sizes. For intimate receptions there is a choice of elegantly appointed function spaces. Brides and grooms will also be able to dine on award-winning cuisine cooked using fresh, seasonal produce with skill, imagination and passion. Macdonald Crutherland House hotel was nominated as Wedding Venue of the Year at the Scottish Wedding Awards 2018.
