David Booth, General Manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture said: “It’s amazing to see so many families out in their local community playing Beat the Street! The game brings people together and it has a positive impact on the area so we are more than happy to offer our support to ensure local communities across South Lanarkshire can benefit from this opportunity.”
Beat the Street is being delivered by Intelligent Health on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council with support from South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture, Smarter Choices, Smarter Places and the Scottish Government.
Councillor John Ross, the Leader of South Lanarkshire Council, said: “The points have been counted and the winners announced! However, what’s great is that no matter how your team did on the leaderboards, the two towns of Cambuslang and Rutherglen have achieved something amazing.
“Everyone who took part and has made positive lifestyle changes is a winner. We hope to be in touch with all participants to help carry on these great habits and to signpost other useful resources that will help with physical and mental health. Thanks to all who took part.”
