Always wanted to try yoga, but afraid you might not fit in? Then these are the classes for you. All classes are suitable for beginners, but experienced yogis are also welcome.
Beginners Yoga
Tuesdays 6.30pm-7.30pm and Saturdays 9.30am-10.30am (Bellshill & Mossend YMCA)
Is this the year you resolve to get fit, make more time for yourself or learn to relax? A yoga class would tick all these boxes and more.
In this beginner’s class we begin with a breathing exercise to calm the mind and body, before moving onto working through a series of yoga postures, with options available to suit all ability levels. Finally, the class will end with a guided relaxation.

This class begins with a nice breathing practice to help us focus on the yoga to come. We use the breath to help us flow through a series of standing, balancing and seated postures, before taking final relaxation. Plenty of options are available to suit all levels of ability.
Candlelit Yin and Yoga Nidra
Thursdays 7pm-8pm (Bellshill & Mossend YMCA)
Yin yoga is a slow and gentle form of yoga, which works on unfolding and releasing tension from deep within the body. Using the breath to hold focus, we try to cultivate qualities of patience, softness, effort and dedication.
This class is suitable for all levels of yogis - from beginners to more seasoned practitioners. It's also great as a means of enhancing recovery in between other forms of physical exercise.
The candlelit class will end with a 15-minute Yoga Nidra, guided relaxation, leaving you feeling stretched and relaxed both mentally and physically.
Saturday Morning Lie-Yin
Saturdays 2 March and 4 May 9.30am – 10.45am (Bellshill & Mossend YMCA)
Getting up for a yoga class on a Saturday morning can be a challenge. So why not join us for a Lie-Yin?
This 75-minute class will begin with a relaxing meditation and breathing experience to help us settle into the weekend. We'll then work through a series of reclining or seated Yin style postures, releasing tension and leaving the mind and body with a sense of refreshment and renewal. Finally, the class will end with a 15-minute Yoga Nidra guided relaxation.
This is the ideal way to start your weekend.
