This fascinating monument was built by Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton, as his final resting place. The building is impressive on the outside, but, book one of the tours offered by Museum staff, and you will see just how breathtaking it is, with its massive dome, magnificent bronze doors, marble floors, and eerily atmospheric crypt – to say nothing of the world famous echo!
When conditions permit, we offer entertaining and very informative tours of Hamilton Mausoleum. Tours must be booked in advance at Low Parks Museum reception. Tours are available on the first and third Sunday of each month (February to November) at 2pm.
Please contact Low Parks Museum reception on 01698 452382 for details.
