Come to Lanark this summer if you are brave enough! A host of fearsome dinosaurs will be on the loose. Your task? To find them... before they find you!
Our fabulous free dinosaur trail has a fresh look for 2023 with locations in the town centre and the delightful new setting of Castlebank Park. Opening on Friday 23 June and running until 13 August, the centrepiece of the event will be an enormous 12 metre TRex skeleton on High Street outside the Tolbooth. You'll be able to pick up your free trail maps from the Tolbooth between 10am and 5pm from 23 June, ready to start out on your dinosaur adventure!
Take a walk in the footsteps of giants with our exciting free family trail. Over 20 dinosaurs are waiting for you to discover them. Find them all to claim your Jurassic Lanark Badge - proof that you are an intrepid dinosaur hunter!
Our baby dinosaurs have recently hatched and you can meet them up close outside the Tolbooth in the town centre every Saturday, Sunday and Wedneaday between 11am and 3pm. Don't worry, they don't bite! Fergus, our TRex will also be putting in special appearances on Saturdays and Sundays at intervals between 11am and 3pm. Watch out, he doesn't bite but he does roar!
Which dinosaurs will you meet on your trail of discovery? Some of the deadliest carnivores wil be here including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Allosaursus, Dromaeosaurus and Velociraptor. There will be plenty of plant eaters too such as Brachioisaurus, Triceratops, and Stegosaurus. Much more friendly!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
