If you know how to work a sewing machine and you have tried a few simple projects such as a basic skirt or pyjama bottoms and you're ready to take on the challenge of a sewing pattern, then this class is for you.
Taking place over 5 evenings in our welcoming studio in Hamilton we will help you understand the jargon of a sewing pattern. Firstly you will learn how to measure yourself and select the right size for you, taking into consideration finished garment size and pattern ease, (don't worry all this is will be explained to you and it is not as complicated as it sounds!) You will be guided through the process from start to finish ensuring you create a professional looking garment that fits beautifully.
What's included:
As well as all the tea you can drink, we will provide the sewing machines, all of the tools and threads you will need to complete your projects as well as any interfacing, elastic that you will need.
Lunch is provided on our all day weekend classes.
What do I need to bring:
You will need to bring the fabric that you need for each project. You are free to bring this with you or we have fabric available to buy in the studio. You will also be making the garment of your choice, so you will need to bring your chosen pattern with you to the class. We have a range of Tilly and The Buttons patterns for sale in the studio.
Who is this class for?
This class is for you if you have used a sewing machine before and completed some simple projects such as simple skirts or pyjama bottoms and you feel ready to take on more complex sewing pattern.
This class is not for you if:
You have never used a sewing machine before - we recommend completing one of our beginners classes first.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
