We will follow the Cleo dress pattern (included with the class) from the award-winning Tilly and the Buttons. This is a great introductory level pattern that will introduce you to (optional) buttonholes, accurate topstitching, sewing with heavyweight fabric, using facings and adding the all-important pockets!
The Cleo pinafore from Tilly and the Buttons is one of their most popular patterns, and it is easy to see why! Such a comfortable and on-trend dress with so many different options to choose from, mini or knee-length, without pockets or a split. Wear Cleo all year round, over a t-shirt in summer and with tights and a polo neck in winter! I love wearing mine with big collared blouses and statement sleeves right now.
What's included:
We will provide the sewing machines, all of the tools and threads you will need to complete your projects, and any interfacing that you will need. You will also receive your own copy of the Tilly and The Button's Cleo pattern (RRP £19) to keep to make again at home.
What do I need to bring:
You will need to bring the fabric that you need for your dungaree dress and the dungaree clips or buttons - we will supply the rest! You can buy your fabric from the Sew You Can shop if you prefer, or bring it with you on the day!
This class is for you if:
You are aged 11+ and have used a sewing machine before and have completed some simple projects such as tote bags or PJ bottoms, and you may have completed our Beginners Course or Little Beginners Course. If you want to start making your clothes, this is a great pattern to start with.
This class is not for you if:
If you have never sewn before or used a sewing machine, this class is not for you. Take a look at our Beginners Complete Sewing Course or Little Beginners class. Sorry, this one is not for anyone who is under 11 years of age, but kids aged 8+ can try of Little Improvers Class.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
