This will be followed by tea & home-baking, to be served in the body of the Museum. Tickets, at £10 each, are available from reception at the Museum.
The Presentation lasts about 40/45 minutes and Margaret will cover briefly:
(1) How to get started on your Family Tree.
(2) How to record your research.
(3) Where to find information, and
(4) a bit about Family History Societies to be followed by time for a Question & Answer session.
The Society will also bring along a range of publications, on their Bookstall, which covers most of both South and North Lanarkshire. These can be perused for an hour before and after the presentation and from previous experience we can highly recommend them.
The Topics covered include:
(1) Death & Mortcloth Records pre 1851.
(2) Monumental Inscriptions for many Lanarkshire Cemeteries & Churchyards.
(3) The Fallen of many Lanarkshire towns during WW1 & WW2.
(4) School Records: - Admission Records, Prize Winners, School History.
(5) An assortment of titles covering Local History and records.
In all they have around 240 Titles which have been Researched and Transcribed by their members during the 32 years that the Society has been running.
