Lanternhouse Laughs Presents Jay Lafferty: Bahookie

About Lanternhouse Laughs Presents Jay Lafferty: Bahookie

Recently included in The List Magazines Hot 100 Jay Lafferty continues to cement her reputation as one of the hottest tickets in stand-up comedy. Regular panellist and sometimes host of the hit BBC Scotland show Breaking The News, Jay is sought after for her on-point satirical views. It was a performance on BBC’s Breaking The News that saw her hit the front page of The New York Times.

Jay’s latest smash hit show Bahookie opened at the Edinburgh Fringe 2023 to sold-out audience and rave reviews. The show was listed in the British Comedy Guides best-reviewed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. Hot on the heels of that success comes the extended tour.

You can expect ‘material tighter than a gymnasts leotard’ (threeweeks) as Jay recounts her unique approach to getting older, keeping fit and finding joy. Jay tackles life coaches, and social media-targeted adverts and introduces you to Dan – her pole-dancing teacher….

Bahookie is a tour de force celebration of what you can achieve when you are terrified of becoming irrelevant. Jay uses her signature warm wit and sharp observations to highlight the hilarity that comes from completely overestimating your own abilities.
