A one day navigation course in the Kilsyth Hills for a women who want to grow their confidence using maps and compass to plan and follow routes in the countryside with some short sections away from paths and tracks. Small group of maximum 6 to allow lots of one to one tutoring.
There will be a short indoor session first to review foundational skills: setting (aka orientating) the map; measuring distance on maps and estimating how long it will take to walk that distance on the ground; and how to relate prominent landforms such as large hills and valleys to the corresponding information on the map.
We then spend the rest of the day outdoors to plan and implement simple routes.
Please see the event website for more details.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
